In documenting the various adaptations of the Orff Schulwerk, 76 authors describe the characteristics and differences resulting from its integration into the cultural traditions and educational systems of individual countries.

‘MOVEMENT AND DANCE IN ORFF-SCHULWERK’, (edited by Barbara Haselbach, Verena Maschat, Carolee Stewart)

Published by Pentatonic Press, San Francisco, USA

Movement & Dance Vol III

Language: English

Movement and Dance in Orff Schulwerk is devoted to an aspect of the Schulwerk that has been integrated from the beginning but has to date received little written documentation relative to the extensive music resources that are available in multiple languages.

Part 1 includes historical and theoretical background.

Part 2 describes various content areas in which movement and dance are approached in the Schulwerk

Part 3 illustrates movement and dance with many different target groups.

Fifty-six authors from many different countries and cultures have collaborated on articles that broaden our knowledge about how movement and dance can be integrated with music and speech guided by the artistic-pedagogical concept developed by Carl Orff, Dorothee Günther and Gunild Keetman.
